Hello everyone,

Very soon I will be doing some wine reviews. I will start here in E-bay, and whenever I get off my lazy ass, I plan on having my own website for wine reviews.  Do I have the palate of Robert Parker or some of the other great wine experts?  NO!  But, I have a good enough one to know a good wine.  While I highly respect Parker, and without a doubt he is the best wine critice of anyone; some of us would like a more common mans review of wine.

Other wine reviews I respect are Wine & Spirits, Wine Enthusiast, Steve Tanzer and Food & Wine.  As for Wine Spectator, they are the biggest joke of anyone.  The only thing their rag serves as is good comedy, and not much else.  Well, all I can say is what is the world coming to?  You have a die hard Steeler fan in me who loves wine.  Don't get me wrong, during the games its beer all the way, LOL!

Okay, now on to a little more.  I do not have the sources to taste all kinds of wines every day.  My reviews will come from the bottle I get at my favorite store; or when I make my way to any of the California wine regions.  I will also cover some Washington and Oregon wines when I get some of them.  I will also cover a few foreign wines if I can, too.

Right now, I am going to tell you this, one of the best kept secrets in California wines right now is Livermore.   They are really starting to produce some good wine and they are soon going to make a big name for themself.   The ATF just recently approved 259,000 new acres for vineyards in Livermore.  Keep an eye out here, it is just a matter of time before they are right on the heels of Napa, Sonoma and other  top American wine regions.

My reviews will be like most others  a 0 to 100 points scale.

95-100 - anything that is a must have and probably expensive. The wine has to be truly stunning to get this rating.   Something that just totally seperates itself from the rest.  The best of the best.

90-94  - a wine that is truly outstanding.

88-89 - an exceptional wine that has many good qualities.

85-87 - a very good wine.

80-84 - a good wine, usually very approachable, but lacks the complexity one would look for in a 88 or higher wine.

75-79 - an average ordinary, every day wine.  Rarely cellar worthy, and do not have the finer qualities of an 88 or higher wine.

70-74 - a wine that is average at best. Not cellar worthy, and has some good qualities, but not many.

60-69 - a wine that has very little going for it.  Many flaws, very few good qualities about it.

50-59 - Pretty much a disaster for wine.  Nothing good about it.

0-49 - I can't imagine a wine being so horrible, that I could ever give it this low of a score.   However, if I should rate one in this point range; I suggest you buy a bottle so you can also experience one of the worst wines the world has to offer.
