The Pirate Ship Game for Fun and Fitness
This is a great game I remember playing when I was a kid, it’s fun and it provides a great workout.
The game is simple and can be played by 2 or more people. One person is the ship captain, the rest are the crew. The goal of the ship captain is to cause the crew to upset him by not following his orders; the goal of the crew is to please the captain by doing what he says.
The captain has simple orders that the crew must follow to remain in the game. The captain has several orders that he gives. They are:
Starboard: Crew must run to the right side of the playing area
Port: Crew must run to the left side of the playing area
Stern: Crew must run to the rear of the playing area
Bow: Crew must run to the front of the playing area
Hit the Deck: Crew must drop to its belly
Mast: Crew must stand straight up with arms above head (like a mast)
Raise the Sails: Crew must do jumping jacks
Anchor: Crew must drop into Pushup position and hold it
Load the Cannons: Crew must do squats
Walk the Plank: Crew must lunge forward
All hands on deck: Crew must run in place with knees reaching as high as possible
Keep playing until nobody is left, the person that makes it to the end gets to take over being the captain. The overall goal of the game is to become captain as many times as possible over a set period of time.
