The New Princess Genevieve Barbie (2006)
The new Princess Genevieve Barbie</a> is the first musical doll in the Barbie lineup. Named after the character from the "Princess and the Pauper" movie (the sixth small screen release for America's favorite doll), the Princess Genevieve toy stands at 15 inches high and works as a wonderful companion for young girls (and boys) learning to speak--and learning to mobilize their bodies.
You can also find several other dolls from the Princess and the Pauper series, including Serafina, Princess Genevieve's overly indulged cat, and King Dominick, a role suited for Barbie's long time companion Ken. Princess Genevieve can actually dance along with your child, and her Serafina friend can sing to the video while it is playing on TV. Mattel employs special watermark tech to create this interactive feature.
Tunes like "I am just like you, you are just like me" will have your children humming along happily, and Princess Genevieve can help them move to the music. Not only can this creative doll inspire an early enthusiasm for music and dance, but it can also act as companion doll for other Barbie based adventures.
Other eminently likable characters from the Princess and the Pauper series include Julian the tutor (Princess Genevieve's secret crush) and Erika, Princess Genevieve's best friend. Although the movie itself recapitulates themes that some adults may find overly familiar, most educators and reviewers believe that Mattel has created an enchanting new product.
