The Loop ArrangerThe Loop Flower Holder or Arranger is contributed to Jay P Orben of New York on December 3 1935. The bottom of the piece is marked with J.P. O. Patd. It is 4.5"hight and the base is 3" in diameter. Made of cast iron, there are 8 little feet on the outer rim. Mostly painted green but sometimes you can find them repainted in white or gold. This was to covered the rust.
This has a great design concept. In order to hold heavy headed flowers such as peonies or glads, this allows the bottom of the stem to stick into a base hold while the loop encircled the higher part of the stem near the flower. There are 13 loops on each. These are adjustable but since it was mostly made of lead, these tend to be pretty delicate after years of use. While it indicates that the highest loop is 4.5, I feel that some I have sold have been higher. I have also seen numbers on the bottom indicating that this may have come in different sizes at least different heights.
