After looking around I figured id throw this little guide out there to kind of help people getting ripped off by fake items they buy in hopes they have the real deal. Lets get started...
SHIRTS
There are NO issued MARPAT t shirts, the marine corps only issued the same Olive Drab t shirts as always unless marked as a unit shirt which is usually more of a forest green type color.
<-- Not Real Marpat Issue
PACKS
All field gear issued by the Marine Corps has certain things in common all pieces will have, those being:
- Sewn white tags with general information, a bar code and NSN number (example #1)
- Small printed Eagle Globe and Anchor patterns throughout the MARPAT design (example #2)
- From what Ive seen they also have the Sewn EGA patch (example #3)
EXAMPLE #1 --> example #2-->
EXAMPLE #3-->
REAL 3 DAY ASSAULT PACK VS FAKE PACK
(NOTE: There are other style packs issued by the marine corps I will add in the next guide I make such as the Recon Issue 3 day pack which is larger and has a built in bottom zipper pocket under the pack itself)
<-- Standard issue Pack
<-- Generic Pack (Fake)
BDU MARPAT TROUSERS AND TOPS REAL VS FAKE
<-- Fake Top
<-- Fake Trousers
Notice on this set of Fake MARPAT on the top there is no sewn EGA tag near the neck nor a sewn EGA on the left breast pocket area. On the Pants the white tag in the place where the standard green tag would be. Most BDU'S (Battle Dress Uniforms) or Utilities are made by primarily three compaines,
- American Apparel Inc
- EA Industries Inc
- Propper International Inc
However this changes with covers which Ive seen are mainly made by Sekri Industries Inc.
Notice on this standard issue top the black EGA tag at the neck and the sewn EGA on the left breast pocket. These are signs to look for. Hopefully this little guide helps you out in your future purchases, feel free to email me at any time or shoot a message here on ebay with questions or if you need an item checked out before buying it.
