Quite often people ask me about the history of Old Tupton Ware.  The title I suppose can be a little misleading because there is nothing old about this porcelain - it is in fact all brand new!

Old Tupton Ware was first introduced and designed in the United Kingdom in 2002 and it was launched with just a few designs.  It has now grown immensely with numerous patterns - all hand painted and hand finished using the process of  tubelining.  

Tubelining is made by squeezing a thin line of designer clay through a small nozzle - this forms the raised outline of the pattern. Each individual piece is hand painted by skilled workers, fired three times before finally being given its clear glaze which gives an added depth to the final process.  Old Tupton Ware is collected around the world. Look out for the stamp of excellence in the form of the Old Tupton Ware Crown - this can be found on the base of all these quality pieces.

Jeanne McDougall, a well known ceramics designer joined the company and has added some fabulous new designs. She must surely have been influenced by the great late Clarice Cliff in some of her Art Deco designs - these can be found on the honey pots and are truly amazing pieces so reminiscent of the 1920s.  Jeanne's designs are often described as fresh, original and vivacious.  With a following of loyal collectors worldwide, many say that her Old Tupton Ware Designs are today's collectables and will become tomorrow's valued antiques!
