The Hills - MTVs New Phenomenon The Hills

MTV's new phenomenon, The Hills, picks up where Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County left off.  In the new reality television series, Lauren Conrad, often referred to as LC on the previous show, has moved from Orange County to Los Angeles.  Living with her roommate Heidi, whom she met while attending art school in San Francisco, Lauren has to balance her course load at college while working an internship in the fashion world.

Beginning its run in 2006, The Hills follows Lauren as she juggles classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and her work at Teen Vogue.  While she is committed to achieving her dream of working in the fashion world, her roommate Heidi wants to enjoy the LA nightlife.  After meeting a popular Hollywood party promoter, the temptation to party instead of study is one that both Heidi and Lauren will have to face.

Joining Lauren as an intern at Teen Vogue on The Hills is Whitney.  A member of a college sorority, Whitney also wants to make a name for herself in the fashion world.  While work at Teen Vogue may be chaotic at times, Lauren finds a reliable friend in Whitney.

Also joining the cast of MTV's latest venture into reality TV are Heidi's boyfriend Jordan and his best friend Brian.  Both have aspirations of breaking into the entertainment business, but it is Brian who initially enjoys more success, with roles in movies and modeling jobs.  Heidi tries to play the role of matchmaker for Brian, as well as her neighbor Audrina, who works as a receptionist at a photo studio, but hopes to find success as a model or actress.
