Sellers beware!

I was excited by the new features eBay recently added to it's listing format and while some like the Designer Template are only available for an additional fee; others, like Picture Show appear to be absolutely free.

I checked the box for Picture Show on most of my newly created auctions... Why not?  It gives you that great little slide show at the top of your listing which allows potential buyers to fully view your product before scrolling down to read the description.  I couldn't think of any reason why a seller would NOT want Picture Show... until now.

I downloaded my latest eBay invoice the other day and, like many of you, I immediately began looking for ways to reduce my ever-increasing fees.  My highest fees were coming from my images so I decided to take most of my store listings down to a single picture but guess what?  Once you turn on Picture Show, there is no way to turn it off and you MUST have at least two images in your listing when Picture Show is enabled.  Forget about removing multiple images to eliminate the Picture Fee.  eBay will not let you do it!  To make matters worse, you can't even turn off Picture Show when you relist an item!  The only option is to cancel the listing and recreate it (which includes paying your insertion and other fees again).

This hardly seems legal to me but I contacted eBay's Customer Support and was told that there's nothing they can do...  So I either pay the image fee for pictures I don't want loaded, or cancel, recreate, and repay.

Arghhh!!!  I plan to learn from my mistakes... I'll cancel the listings and never choose Picture Show again... even better, I'll cancel the listings and use Auctiva to create them again.

Please show eBay that you disapprove of this sneaky way of taking more money from its sellers by voting "Yes" below.

Thank you.
