What we need is a Group of Ebayers That will help people FIGURE OUT What they Have For Sale. I see this every day in the new listings for toys&hobbies/ radio control/ airplanes/ engines. If you have a motor that you do not know what it is Don't just guess ask. I know who do you or can you ask? This is the $64,000.00 question. Anyone on here old enough to remember when they caught the kid cheating that was in the game show called the $64,000 Dollar Question. Seems the producers were feeding him the answers to the questions. When they are playing a game like that it looks like cheating. Which it was. Those folks on here many of them picking up a motor in a yard sale. Do not for the most part TRY TO CHEAT. They will look through the listings. They will ask the person who sells it to them. Last but not least they will remember back to their childhood when a object the size of a Mercury Dime looked like it was as big as a MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR! There is a guy one here lets call him JOE. Cause that is his name. Joe was being nice and list an airplane on here for a buddy of his or an employee or the neighbor or whoever. Joe asked the guy to look up on eBay and see what he had and the name and such. So the guy did this. They listed it with a term that they saw in all the ads for that Airplane. They put those three little letters in the ad as well. the three letters were (ARF) Neither of them knew that ARF stood for "ALMOST READY TO FLY" If they had that thought. Not being airplane model people themselves they put it in the ad anyway. They had no idea that by putting those three little letters in the ad they were telling people that in just a couple of hours that box they were shipping was going to be a fully operational airplane.. They had now clue how long it might take to build the airplane.
So when I spent a whole lot of money to buy that plane boy they were happy. When I got the box that was just full of sticks to build an airplane from scratch I most certainly was not happy. They took the add they had place on ebay and went to a local Hobby store where they lived and when they walked in the very first thing they happened to see was the very same model with the very same word to them (ARF) on the package. They asked the clerk about the model. He told them it was a very easy to put together airplane. He then opened one up and Guess what all the work had already been done It was not a box of stick like they had sent to me. I will say this they apologized very long and loud and clear that the did not know what they had done. Yes I believe they had made an honest mistake. They even paid for the shipping. Still this should not have happened and it might not have happened if we had a way to keep it from happening. It so happens that less than a week later I still was looking for that same model. Again I saw an ad. This from a totally different person in a different area of the country even. She had listed it as an (ARF) When I asked her about those three little letter's She told me that no it was a bunch of stick like all of them are and that the Letters (ARF) didn't mean anything to her or to anyone else it was just part of the AD and now she would not . Change it. Put in the Ad that it was not an ARF as they ALL were ARF's and why did I care if I was not going to buy it I was a "JERK" for even telling her about it or bothering her with that little bit of a Problem. She also did not care what happened if and when someone bought it as then it was going to be their problem not mine. So we are back to the PROBLEM. MINE AND EVERYONE ELSE"S. Remember a Gallon of Hi Test ran $0.19 9/10ths per gallon and the Control Line PT19 Profile Plastic Airplane that had Blue wings and a Yellow flat Plastic body. The wings were held on with rubber bands. It had a .049 Baby Bee Engine. To us KIDS that engine looked Hugh. Still in todays time and place we all had heard there was a tiny little 020 and even a smaller 010. So now when we see a small motor it has to be the littlest one doesn't it? Well not exactly. I have put a few bits and pieces in guides on here to try and help but as for the engines and many other thing we need a group of people who can make a much better guess that the normal Joe on here. I for one do not believe that people, even those selling items are being dishonest. I would give up an hour or two a day to try to help people figure out what they have for sale. So anyone else out there willing to help in one area or another to keep items listed properly and make everyone happy that they are getting what they are told they are getting. So everyone who reads this send a copy or at least a reference to eBay Help section or at least mention this and send it to me so I can forward it onto eBay. Plus so at least one thing Vote for this item at the end of reading it. thanks dray
