Welcome to Ebay... the worlds most fascinating online shopping experience. Now that you are here, how do you make the best choices in who to purchase from and get the most value for your money. I have been selling womens clothing and buying a little bit of everything for almost four years and this is my personal guide to assist you in purchasing and completing transactions for the best possible Ebay shopping experience. Are you excited? Let's get started...
- Keywords & Descriptions. How do you find exactly what your looking for within the endless pages of listings on Ebay? Let's take for example that you are looking for a special dress for a evening out. Ebay has created a search box at the top right hand corner of the page that allows you to type keywords to describe exactly what your looking for. You could use as keywords: The Size, Color, Print and Style (Halter, Strapless, Mini, Gown etc...). Use any descriptive keywords that will help you in finding the exact item that you are looking for. Let's try another item...Pink Sleeveless Top. Now try keywords such as: Size, Print and Style of Blouse (Camisole. Tunic, V-Neck, Babydoll etc...)..Whatever style, colors and specifications your looking for use them in your keyword search. Using the Search Box, will significantly narrow down your search and help you in finding the exact item you are looking for.
- Measurements & Manufacturers. It is very important to always use the measurements given in a listing regardless of tag size to guarantee the best possible fit. Manufacturers measurements can vary in the sizing of their items. I individually measure each item lying flat without adding any extra inches for stretch, so that you may determine the best possible fit for you. Junior plus items are significantly smaller then womens plus items, if you ever need any extra measurements or pictures, please e-mail me and I will forward the requested information to you asap. Now you have found the perfect item with the best possible fit. How do you decide who to purchase from?
- Feedback plays a vital part within the Ebay community. It allows you the opportunity to read about how other buyers have rated their shopping experience with your potential seller and if they would conduct business with them again. It also allows both trading partners to rate each other and to build up thier positive feedback rating. In the event that you are not completely satisfied with your transaction, always offer your seller the opportunity to remedy the situation before leaving neutral or negative feedback. Usually it will only take a simple e-mail to correct and resolve a less then satisfactory transaction. In the event that you are still not happy with your transaction, Ebay has incorporated the help of Square Trade, a third party mediator to assist both parties in completing a transaction. This program helps in allowing Ebay transactions to remain safe, secure and reliable.
- If your seller has created a *Me* page, an icon located next to their Ebay user i.d., take a few minutes to read it. It may allow you a better opportunity to learn about your seller and then decide if you would like to use them to conduct your transaction. As a buyer, you are also given the opportunity to create your own *Me* page, this allows other members of the Ebay community to get to know you better as well and provides a more personal shopping experience.
- Common Sense. Remember the old adage that common sense is not always common. Ebay allows us as sellers to offer one item or hundreds of items. Unfortunately they are not able to regulate how each seller conducts their transactions and or their business philosophy. Learn the common abbreviations that most sellers use to describe the condition of their items. New, NWT (New Without Tag), or OOAK (One Of A Kind). Items that are listed as (Almost New or Excellant Condition) are not new items, they are indeed used item and there may be signs of wear hear and there.
- Terms Of Service. Excessive shipping and handling charges, slow shipping delays and poor communication should not be acceptable. If you have a question or comment about an item, it is the sellers obligation to answer them in a timely, professional and courteous manner. I would advise you to only purchase from sellers who state their terms of service in each listing. Terms of service should be specific and describe in detail their shipping policies, discounts or combined shipping rates if applicable and a return and exchange program. You have the buying power and hundreds of sellers to choose from, only conduct business with whom you feel respected by and valued as a customer and expect nothing less.
You can truly find whatever it is that you are looking for on Ebay, you just want the experience to be nothing short of fabulous. There are so many helpful links and community discussions to join or just browse and become more knowledgable. Just click on the community tab at the top of the home page and you'll find an endless wealth of information.
I hope this guide was helpful in making better choices and buying decisions on Ebay. If you ever have a question or comment, please feel free to e-mail me.
Take Care and Best Wishes... Lisa
