Generally speaking, to set up a godly missile character, you need to do the following.

1. Godly gear for at least 15 skill points boost and strength and dexterity enhancement
2. Must have high percentage of life and mana leech generated by your gear or items in inventory
3. Must have high percentage of fastest hit recovery by holding small charms with such mods PLUS life, resistance and dexterity enhancement.
4. Must have a short-range melee hireling (e.g. act 2 or act 5 hireling) to protect you in short range attack from enemies
5. Must add stats points on dexterity to achieve highest physical damage
6. Must have a lot of items or charms to boost life and to enhance overall resistances
