The Biggest Seller's Mistake - Are You Doing This??

Many of you reading this are Ebay sellers - or possibly you have your own website, and are selling products to customers.  But how many of you are creating a customer mailing list - and reselling to your customers?

It's far cheaper to retain a customer than it is to find a new one.  On Ebay, your listing fees & final value fees are the cost of finding new customers - I don't know about you, but I pay quite a bit to Ebay every month for those new customers.  If you have a website, traffic doesn’t just magically appear – you’re paying, one way or the other, for those customers as well.

This is where your mailing list comes into play.  Having a list of all your customers, and sending them a “Newsletter” two to four times a month sounds like work, doesn’t it?  I know we all hated writing reports in school - but writing emails to your mail-list is going to earn you money, not good grades... so you should take the time to write to your customers several times a month.

This “Newsletter” you send is nothing more than an email – perhaps no more than 3-10 paragraphs… that mention anything to do with your product niche.  Nor is it hard to come up with material… going to Article Directories can pull up tons of written material for you to adapt and use.  So to will a Google search of current news on your topic.

Hopefully, you have related products that you can offer in your “Newsletter,” but if you don’t – a quick trip to Clickbank.com will turn up plenty of affiliate possibilities.  So don’t let a lack of products to sell stop you.  You can always find products to sell – what’s far more difficult is to find customers to sell ‘em to.  Don’t let your customers get away from you!

Now – how do you go about this?  Trying to keep track of dozens, hundreds, thousands of customer email addresses – and sending all of them emails!  Ebay makes it simple if you have a store – Simply go to “Manage My Store”, then under “Store Marketing” you’ll find your store mailing list.

Unfortunately, there’s no flexibility in this solution – although if you aren’t familiar with putting up your own website, and scripts – this Ebay solution will certainly work for you.

But if you are competent with websites & scripts – you should acquire and install your own very own Auto-Responder script – and when you sell a product to your customer – you should offer them something free to entice them to join your mailing list.  If you don’t know the process, look for ebooks on “Autoresponders” and “Mail Lists” – I have quite a number of informational products covering these areas in my store: Khadaji's Ebooks & Scripts

When you begin to market to your customers - you'll see an increase in your earnings - this hasn't gone unnoticed by the business world - have you stopped to think of how many businesses you deal with are asking for your email address now?  They aren't asking altruistically!  They know that they'll convince you to purchase something else from them in the immediate future.  Duplicate what they are doing, and your sales will go up too!

Thankyou!
