Have you ever thought about adding the rosary to your prayer life?  Some people are afraid that it will take up too much time or that they will not be able to focus on the prayers.  I have some suggestions that will help you if you are looking to deepen your spirituality in this way.

The first thing I would suggest is to get a pamphlet on praying the rosary to make sure you know what prayers are on each bead.  Secondly I would make it known in your daily prayers that you are considering taking that step to pray the rosary on a regular basis.  So often people miss the spiritual aspect and the help that comes from the Holy Spirit to make a deeper prayer commitment.

Next I would get a simple rosary not an elaborate jeweled beauty but a simple plastic one.  You'll have time for more elaborate ones later but keep in mind the beads are there to help keep your place and your prayers are the most important part of this relationship.

Before you get started keep in mind that getting in the habit of a daily rosary is easy.  All you have to be is willing and God will teach you how to include it in your day.  I would even encourage you not to overwhelm yourself and in the beginning if all you can get thru is the Creed, Our Father, the first 3 Hail Marys and a Glory Be than just do that.  After you get started you will understand what I mean about the Holy Spirit stepping in and helping you along.

The benefits of a daily rosary are endless.  If you read the lives of the saints or if you make an in depth study of your favorite saint you will see that the rosary is a powerful part of their daily prayer habit.  I have noticed a tremendous change in serenity since I started a daily rosary over the past 3 years.  These prayers help you focus in on Christ in a wonderful way.  You live with him, witness his death and resurrection through the mysteries as you pray.  You also see these events through the eyes of Mary.  Imagine what her condition must of been to have to witness her sons death.  When you reflect on these images you will feel your heart receiving a deeper understanding of what your own life is all about.  It's not what we see on television or read in magazines.  The rosary will help you see many more great things.

I could go on with many more suggestions.  My experience was once I started doing just a little in the area of saying the rosary my entire life, business, and family began to change and many deep lessons have been learned and are still coming daily.  I think you have enough to get started and your journey will be enlightened as you go.
