I purchased a Baby Alive doll for my 7 year old as a Christmas present. I would have never thought that a doll could teach a child so much. She treats this doll just like a real baby. (I am talking, she doesn't let this doll out of her site, except for when she is at school, the doll rides in a carseat to school with us each morning, and she leaves it with me for the day, telling me to care for it; the doll is in the car when I pick her up from school, 1st thing she does is kiss it on the forehead and asks it, "Were you a good girl for grandma today?) She feeds it several times each day, rocks it, talks and sings to it, takes it out for walks in the stroller, puts it down for naps, etc. the list goes on and on.
This doll has had a great impact on my daughter as far as caring for an infant. She now knows whenever she is around a young infant that she has to be careful about how she plays with them without getting rough and end up hurting the infant. It has taught her how to properly change the diaper on an infant if she has to. It has taught her how to properly hold an infant, fed an infant, brup an infant, play with an infant, and how to play quietly while an infant is taking a nap around her. I think that anybody who will buy their daughter one of these dolls is making a great investment, it can teach them so much about caring for or being around around an infant.
This doll will make a great teaching tool for a young lady who is thinking about starting her own family. I think that all the high schools should consider using this doll in their home economics classes when teaching on caring for infants.
I also think that this doll will make a great teaching tool for that soon new father-to-be that has never had anything to do with caring for an infant. He can practice changing diapers, feeding, holding and playing with an infant with this doll. (WE NEVER GET TOO OLD TO PLAY WITH DOLLS)
THIS DOLL MAKES A GREAT PLAYING TOY FOR A YOUNG LADY OR A GREAT TEACHING TOOL FOR NEW PARENTS.
