What is the BEST underwear available?
Good question. Everyone has their own preferences about the most elemental piece of clothing we wear (some of us don't wear it ... but that is an entirely different topic.) Of course, preferences are based on what we've been accustomed to or what we have found to meet our needs and comforts as Men or Women. The question posed here; is there an underwear that is so well designed and made with the such versatile materials that it could be generally considered the BEST all-around underwear ever? As I said, this is largely a matter of opinion based on preference. However, relating to boxers specifically, I have read some reviews where people claim a certain brand "developed the perfect boxer" and it is made of "revolutionary material". Funny.. this person's claims sound like an advertisement for a brand whose commercials are probably starring their favorite sports hero.
Thus, I posed the question - what are the Best underwear? Well, here is another few questions. What do award-winning Alpine mountain climbers most rely on during arduous ascents up 26,000 foot peaks? What do committed adventurers rely on during treks through the most unforgiving terrain from jungles to deserts? What do the dedicated, yet little known individual athletes from skiing to kayaking count as their most valuable attire? If you asked them all, the most common answer would certainly be quality underwear. The most trusted of which include Patagonia, and their Capilene. It only makes sense, they have consistently contributed to improving active and casual lifestyles for over 30 years. They actually have developed "revolutionary materials" for their clothing decades before the modern sports fads came about as a result of the innovations made by dedicated people.
Now, I'm not a paid mountain climber or a professional kayaker, and I don't work for or get any $ from Patagonia. I'm not sure they even like people selling their products on ebay. I just know from personal experience that, after trying every kind of underwear I've found ( cotton, silk, and many new synthetics) , the most comfortable, and best performing underwear- whether skiing all day, hiking in summer heat all day, or sitting in an office chair all day - is Patagonia's. You will never see a Patagonia commercial because they rely on their products to speak for themselves. Their underwear is phenomenal, including briefs and boxer briefs for women and men, and a few different styles of boxers in different weights of their exclusive Capilene fabric. Their minimalist, streamlined baselayers need nothing more. You can put them on, and almost forget they are there. I wear boxers myself, and I'm particlularly satisfied with the Silkweight Capilene boxers which come in standard to brightly expressive color styles. They are so well-made, I have pairs that are still functional and comfortable after 8 years of use! I personally would have a hard time wearing anything else.
If you are a person that prefers to make choices about your comfort based on tried and truly "revolutionary" tech and your own ideas, than what the fad of the day is or what the latest sports star's paid to say, you might want to try out some of Patagonia's underwear as an option. But then again, maybe you already know.
