The World of Entertainment can be a great place to work...I've learned a lot through trial and error.  Before you jump into the deep end of the Modeling or Acting "Pool"...please read this Guide!   

***Being a Model can be fun, you may make some decent money, I say "may" because it's all RANDOM.   Sometimes (it seems) there is no rhyme or reason to anything that will happen to you in this industry.  You must always protect yourself, never go anywhere alone - not to an audition - not to a photo shoot.  People who do not look likes wolves ~ can be wolves (dressed as sheep).  In order to get an Agent, you DO NOT need a full book of photos.  To start out, check out the Agencies on the web, some will have Open Call Days when you can pop in.  Just take a digital pic of yourself, 1 full length and one close-up (headshot) and see what they say.  Some will take submissions through the mail only.  Don't be fooled into taking their "classes" or shooting w/THEIR photographer for some crazy price.  It won't get you any jobs - it only lines their pockets! 

***If you want to be an Actor, take Classes in everything!  If you are still in high school, get into Drama, take language classes (I can speak 5 different languages), jump around in hip-hop or ballet, put yourself OUT THERE!  If you are in College, do some of the same things...take IMPROV Classes.  Check into your local TV Stations (Adelphia, etc).  Some hold Classes that can help you.  Be wary of any Teacher/Instructor that makes the Acting Process seem "mysterious".  I hate that!  Acting is BEING.  I am an Instructor at the College Level ~ I love teaching, but you must  enable your students to go out and fly by themselves.  Some Teachers like to keep their little birdies in the Nest too long; if that happens, you become dependent on your Mama Bird Teacher and you'll NEVER test your wings...you'll be too afraid!  Every single person has special abilities, and talents ~ you just need to be taught how to use them and how to present them in any given situation! 

***Being an Impersonator ~ it's the best gig you'll EVER get paid for.  I am able to perform as four different characters and I'm paid an INSANE amount of $$$.  Who do you look like?  You can get a Lookalike Agent - there are quite a few Lookalike Websites, check 'em out and see who's out there - what stars, music artists are popular now?  Who's got a Movie coming out?  Do you look like any of them? 

                           If you are a serious Actor, Entertainter ~ Find your Niche' ~ Don't Give Up ~ You Can Do It!
