I'd like to thank Ebay (finally) for stopping the misrepresentation of the 'Brighton' good name.
There have been numerous sellers, marketing their Brighton 'look-alikes', as 'Diane Brighton', 'Lydia Brighton', 'Bebe Brighton', and (I'm sure) countless other brand names (that don't even really exist), leading many unsuspecting buyers, into believing that they are buying the genuine article....'BRIGHTON'. (Jewelry, purses, shoes, sunglasses...etc.)
It's about time. I have REPEATEDLY contacted Ebay, requesting that they stop their practice, of letting this 'misrepresentation' slip by them. I'm sure that, for those unscrupulous sellers, it was a 'free-for-all', as far as selling these 'knock-offs', which were somewhat similar to the authentic 'Brighton' line, but, seriously lacking in their quality. I only hope that enough people will read my guides, and realize, that the authentic 'Brighton' line, is beautiful, and, unsurpassed in quality.
Genuine Brighton purses and shoes, are made with 100% leather, beautiful, high quality fabric linings, and, impeccable workmanship. Their purses are made to last, next to forever ,with normal use.
Genuine Brighton jewelry, is heavy, and extremely well made. It's also heavily coated in sterling silver...for years and years of use. And, when you're done using it, or, when you're just tired of a certain piece (most unlikely), it's still worth something to someone else, that perhaps cannot afford a new Brighton piece.
The quality of genuine Brighton, just simply, cannot be surpassed.
If you have never examined a piece of genuine Brighton (anything in their line), you MUST take the time to visit your local Brighton retailer. I promise, you will be amazed. AND, you will also find, that their retail prices, are most certainly, not out of line with the quality. And, you must remember, that should you ever decide to part with a piece of genuine Brighton, you will CERTAINLY be able to sell it, and recoup some of your initial investment. Sometimes, (depending on the piece) you may even actually make a profit on a piece, although you have used it youself. Some of their pieces are EXTREMELY collectible....for instance, check out their annual 'Think Pink,,,or, Pink Power' Breast cancer bracelets, which also raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.
As I've said before, I do not see any problem with 'knock-offs' of high-end designer brands. I do, however, see a problem with a seller misleading a buyer, into thinking that they are getting the genuine article. If it's a Brighton knock-off....sell it as such. Some of them are just darling....BUT...nowhere near worth as much...as the genuine article.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I love Brighton products, and am very passionate about protecting their good name..and excellent product!
