Is the recommend way to treat your Thai and China Silk garments only very mild detergents should be used in this process. Never use bleach or bleach product in the cleaning of silk. Products made to wash fine items like Woolite work very well when dealing with silk.
Machine Washing
Chinese Silk Robe
Thai and China Silk items can be machine washed and the results will be very good if you follow a few simple steps. Always use cold water and wash the item on gentle cycle only. It is best not to wash other items at the same time and to use a Lingerie Bag to hold the item. Never use bleach or any bleach product and use a very mild detergent like Woolite or a similar product. If the garment has any Velcro or hook and loop fasteners on it make sure they are closed as the hooks can catch the silk. If the garment has buttons leave them unbuttoned when washing.
Drying of Silk

If you use a dry cleaner this will not be a problem the item will be returned to you on a hanger ready to wear. But for those doing it themselves it is a very easy process. The best way is very simple just place the garment on a hanger and let air dry. Hang the garment so that the shape of the item is correct.
For machine drying use a gentle cycle on your dryer and a low-temperature. Many new dryers today have a silk setting built into them. Do not allow the garment to order dry and when removed from the dryer place on a hanger.
If the garment still has a few wrinkles, a hand steamer is a great way to remove them. If a steamer is not available you can use an iron again set on low heat or a little steam and a cloth. Many items can de ironed from the inside, with great results. If a steamer is not available; you can iron your damp silk garments inside out, using the gentle heat setting.
With proper care your Thai and China Silk items will last to be treasures for many years to come. For the largest selection of Thai Silk and China Silk items on eBay please see my eBay Store Fishinglines
