 A common misconception in our world is" if it fits, it must work and be correct" This statement is SO wrong when it comes to carburation on any engine. A carb is the life line to the engine. It MUST be proper size, and have proper fuel mixture for each engine it is installed upon. All engines require a special mixture of fuel taylored to that specific engine. For the best performance, idling and running, adjustments HAVE to be made to make this all occur. Generic "fits all" carbs, while cheap DO NOT  give you the benefits required to have your engine running properly in all weather conditions, elevations, muffler types, etc. Adding a simple straight pipe and removing the muffler will require a carb adjustment. Without adjustments, you can never make your engine run properly. A carburetor is not  fits all, just as a set of dentures is not a fits all. Proper sizing is req'd for best operation. In the case of mini bikes of all makes including Rupp, Speedway, Bonanza, Fox and all others an incorrect carb can make a bike run poorly. A correct carb can make the difference of having a good fun ride or a terrible troublesome ride. Many remakes of Tecumseh carbs have been made by many companies. Many of those remakes do not have adjustable fuel mixtures. They have been called "automatic", or "self adjusting". Well there is no one inside that carb to adjust it's mixtures when the weather changes or when the elevation changes. Those style carbs were designed for implements and lawn and garden equipment that ran at 1 constant speed, unlike a minibike were it's throttle is always being changed. 1 easy way to know if your looking at a true adjustable proper working tunable carb is to see if it has a red/pink primer bulb.......if it does, it isn't a minibike carb. The other way is to check the bottom of the carb for an adjusting screw......if no screw, it isn't a minibike carb.

FACT: starts easier due to proper mixture beings carb is adjustable and engine doesn't require an excessive amount of warm up time as compared to non adjustable, primer bulb type carbs

FACT: Won't run your engine lean as emissions + primer bulb carbs do.....3 benefits...no overheating, no burned valves, great running with fast warm ups in ALL weather conditions

FACT: Internal engine wear is less due to proper fuel mixture beings gasoline is a lubricant for valve guides, valve seats and cylinder walls.

FACT: Engine oil won't break down near as quick as compared to emission carbs, due to less heat which causes thermal breakdown of engine oil.

FACT: Carbs are NOT FITS ALLS...they MUST have proper internal venturi size for proper engine operation

FACT: Having adjustable mixture screws does not hamper performance due to vibration in ANY way.

FACT: A properly tuned carb and sized carb will result in maximum horsepower from your engine. Dyno results prove this daily. Why have a 5hp engine with junk carb causing your engine to be a true 3hp?
