An entry level amp, decent for the price, but the specs are not entirely accurate. The amp has XLR inputs on the back, however they are NOT balanced inputs. Pin 2 of the XLR input is wired to ground. Basically just another high-impedance input. It will cut your balanced signal in half. The power output is very liberally rated, no where near 1000 watts even at 2 ohms, if you would dare run the amp at that impedance. The LED bar graph display works well, but the added LED's on each side are too bight for a decorative touch.. I has no trouble obtaining a schematic from the manufacture, but it is generic and covers several models. It clearly shows the non-balanced inputs. Once again, for the price you can't go wrong as long as your using the 1/4" (high-impedance) input. Just don't overload this amp as it will fail.
I am an electronics tech for a local music store and have been in the business for over 25 years. I was able to modify one of these amps to transformer balanced inputs and lower the level of the decorative LED's on the front panel. Works great so far. This modification is too extensive for the average person, but OK for a tech head like myself!
