Hello again, let me start off by saying I've played golf all my life and have taught the game for over seven years while Golf can be very relaxing and enjoyable it can be unimposing for someone new to the game let me go over some pointers that I believe will be of help to anyone starting out.

1. Don't learn from your husband or wife if you're going to take instruction get it from someone that is beyond an average player you wouldn't want to learn Spanish from someone that can barley speak the language I feel the same is true of golf take the time to get lessons from someone that can truly help you understand the fundamentals of the game.

2. Don't go out and spend $2000 on clubs your first week you can find nice starter sets at stores like play it again sports or even online like here on eBay you should be able to get a nice starter set with a bag for $300 or less. A lot of people go out and play with a friend that is a good player and has nice clubs and all of the sudden in their mind they think they need to have the top of the line clubs to be good well it doesn't work that way if your swing still has major flaws no club is going to correct that for you.

3. Golf like anything in life takes hard work the more you put into it the more you will get out of it so be sure to work on your game and ability to hit the ball solid on a constant basis go to the range and hit practice balls more than you play at least at a two to one ratio.

4. Try to play when the course is not crowed weekday afternoons are good if you can get the time to play then you will be able to take more time while you are learning and not impede play, you'll want to be sure to let faster players play though they also paid to be on the course and may become upset if you don't yelled to them. Also it's the right thing to do let faster players play on you'll have a better time out.

5. When it's your turn to hit be ready have your club out and be ready to hit the ball I see players all the time fall into the trap of watching everyone else play and not preparing for their shot. Have your club out and a target you're going to swing to before it's your turn to hit fast play will help you play better and make you a more enjoyable person to play with.

6. Start on a par 3 course if one is accessible to you they are perfect for starting golfers you'll learn all the shots you need to become a good player but not have to be overwhelmed by having to try and hit a 250 yard carry over water or play a 570 yard par five when you're just trying to get used to hitting the ball decent.

7.Walk don't ride whenever you can you'll see the course the way it was intended to be played by the designer much better and you'll take in the nature and beauty of the wildlife around you. Plus you'll get a much better work out for your legs which will make you a better player in time.

Well thanks for reading my guide please don't think golf isn't fun and enjoyable it is this is intended to help you from falling into the mistakes many starting players make when taking up the game.

Please let me know if this was helpful!  Thank you very much!
