If you're here on eBay searching for things you're looking to save money. If you are looking for something for that special someone, knowing just a little more about him or her can help save you money!

FOR KIDS AND YOUNG ONES: Keep in mind their ages. You cannot only often save money by purchasing open and damaged box specials at retail stores, but you can also do that here! Not only will you save more, but you get to shop from the convenience of your own home! BEWARE: If you are looking for a NIB item (New In the Box) be sure to check the description and pictures to verify it IS coming in a box. NEW does not always mean with original box. Sometimes this is the reason the item is the lowest priced one on eBay. BUT a thoughtful and frugal gift giver will be able to save $$ by taking advantage of this.

Depending on their ages, most children do not understand new in the box. To them, this is just another layer of wrapping. Save money on big money gifts like PSP's, gaming systems, etc... by looking for like new ones and packaging in a nice basket or storage box with some additional games. TIP 1: Know the recipient well enough that they will absolutely LOVE what you're giving. Santa is quite busy during the holidays and sometimes, boxes just get ruined in the sleigh! (I still use this one today and my kids are older!) TIP 2: Look for second hand and like new items on their wish lists.  Not having the box can save you a ton! (Plus, it decreases the ship weight too!  Same thing goes for clothing. CAREFUL: When it comes to clothing, if you are unsure of a size, stick with something either slightly bigger or NWT (New With Tags). This will avoid possible embarrassment if the item does not fit. (Although if it is for your own children, flip it on eBay later!)  TIP 3: If the item does not fit the recipient, ask for an alternative and insist you get them a replacement that they will like better. (After all, this is part of the giving joy! Seeing the joy in the eyes of the recipient. Only fare you get a second chance to see it!)  CAREFUL: Some NWT from power sellers ARE manufacturer defects or returns. Most reputable sellers will disclose this. IF you notice black lines through tags or lack of hanging tags, this may be the case. If so, you will not be able to return or exchange it at a department store.

ADULTS & OTHERS: If you REALLY know they want that purse organizer or Coach wallet, but you don't have the budget for a NWT, search for a like new one on eBay and give it with a fancy box and tissue! TIP 3:Know your gift recipient well! Knowing they're special likes and adding that special thought into the gift will go a long way! That someone special who has asked for it will appreciate the fact that you put the extra time and effort hunting down the exact one they wanted and not care or even notice any tags! (If they don't, THEY DIDN'T DESERVE THE GIFT anyway!) CAREFUL: Again, making sure you know the recipient well, the thoughtfulness will overshadow the lack of tag!

KIDS & OTHERS: Purchasing nice baskets, boxes or other fancy storage containers can make just about anything used on eBay the perfect gift to give! Look for LOTS on items that can be broken down and distributed amongst several recipients on your list. Teachers, yankee swaps and other general gift recipients LOVE thoughtfully assembled baskets! For kids, art supplies, smocks, playdough, and some store bought candy can be perfect for last minute needs. (And kept later if not!) Teachers and others baskets can include, coffee samples, scissors and other office or craft supplies, tissues, or whatever can be used in their line of work.

SEE! Frugal used gift giving IS as easy as 1, 2, 3! 1) know your recipient well, 2) look for the best deal on that special item on eBay for the best price and 3) add the extra TLC with the wrapping and no one will notice!

Cheers! And now that you're saving youself some money...look for something special for you!

Please take a moment and rate my guide when you are done! I've entered the contest :-) Thanks again!!!!

Happy gift giving!!
