WELCOME Friends of TY!
ABOUT ME
I have been a TY Retailer since 1993. In this Guide, I will share with you things from an Authorized TY Retailer's perspective.
HISTORY OF TY -
TY, Inc. has been making affordable plush items since 1986. TY, Inc. is has always been and still is a Privately Owned Company (no stock available) owned by Ty Warner.
ATTIC TREASURES HISTORY and the FIRST TWELVE -
TY has RETIRED the entire Attic Treasure Line. However, Attic Treasure collecting is still alive and well. Attic Treasures are a fun plush to collect. Many can be purchased for $5.00 or less. They are fully jointed and make great gifts for young and old alike. They are approximately the same size as a Beanie Babie or a little larger. TY also made a few of the larger Attic Treasures which were about 12".
TY Attic Treasures were first introduced in 1993 when TY introduced the first 12 which soon became a very popular series known as "The Attic Treasures Collection." Below are the names of the First 12 Attic Treasures which were introduced in 1993:
- Clifford (bear)
- Dexter (bear)
- Fraser (bear)
- Gilbert (bear)
- Henry Gold (bear)
- Jeremy (bunny)
- Reggie (bear)
- Sara (bunny)
- Tiny Tim (bear)
- Tyler (bear)
- Woolie Brown (bear)
- Woolie Gold (bear
If you happen to have one of these cuties, you are very lucky indeed! The value of the first "twelve" has skyrocketed since their introduction.
TAG Information -
The tags on your Attic Treasures are a very important part of its value. Without a tag the average Attic Treasure price drops in value by 50% or more!
Attic Treasures have two types of tags: swing tags (also called "heart tags") and tush tags (those attached to your Attic Treasures' rear end!). The tags have gone through many changes over the years have become known as "generations." There are currently 13 generations of swing tags, and 13 generations of tush tags..
- Mint Tags (Means the paper swing tag should be in Mint condition still attached to the Attic Treasure, not torn, no bending, no dents, no damage of any kind.
- Creased Tags (Means that is not really bent in half but has been creased or very slightly bent.
- Bent Tag (Usually completely bent in half or almost in half)
Sometimes you can get great deals Attic Treasures that have tags in less than mint condition. If you are just collecting because you love the item or you are giving it to a child, then the tag condition should not matter.
ABOUT COLLECTING -
The best piece of advice I can give is always collect items you love. If they become valuable later on then that is great!
Thanks and enjoy collecting and giving to others!
p.s. if you have any questions about TY Attic Treasures or TY products, just send me an email and I will be happy to help you if I can. I do try very hard to answer all emails.
