First of all, thank you for the positive feedback I have received from my prior guide on Baseball cards. I am happy I can help true collectors make some money while having fun!!! As always, if you like my guide, please vote down below. NOW, on to the top FIVE boxes for ripping or keeping - we will start from #5 and move our way up:

Before I start - let me go over a few basic items I used in creating this list. Pack ripping is a term used meaning opening, at a minimum, a box of cards. There is also case ripping, which means cracking open a factory sealed case and opening up every pack. Many sellers and dealers case rip until they get a big hit (meaning one of the tough pulls- like a cut auto from Upper Deck Legendary cuts - 1-2 per case), then sell the remainder of the boxes on eBay. Always check feedback for big hits, they should occur once in a while unless the seller is doing this. This list is from my experience, and is ranked from the percentage of $$ I get back after ripping the box, and selling the contents. For keeper boxes, the % increase from selling the sealed box. Now on to the list!

#5 - RIPPER 2005 Donruss Leather and Lumber. This one may shock some people, as there are no huge hits in the boxes, but they provide a good bang for the buck. I purchased a sealed case of this product when it came out and again a few weeks ago and I made some nice cash on these boxes both times. Each box contained at least 3 nice hits. Two game used AND an auto signed on a piece of glove leather (not game used usually). I paid about $60 per box and the hits usually produced about this much in return. Some hits - like a Mattingly and a Ripken Jr. produced way more than the cost of the box alone. Plus, you had a slew of inserts to sell that brought in some good money as well as the ability to put together the relatively small base set. Great product - I recommend looking into this for RIPPING.

#4 - KEEPER - 89 Donruss sealed boxes, any year Topps sealed boxes, and 89 Upperdeck. I know this one has a few choices, but I group them together since they are very nice sellers and priced nicely to keep stored away. The Topps boxes are the backbone of the industry and the biggest mainstream sellers EVERY year. Any year base brand Topps are good keepers. What can I say about 89 Donruss? You can still get a case of 20 boxes on eBay for around $225! The hits include Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, and Gary Sheffield. Where else can you get a 17 year old product with this many current stars??? 89 Upperdeck, the set that brought class to collecting! I remember seeing these packs at stores when I was just starting to collect baseball cards as a kid, and I still remember thinking .99 for one pack!?! I am sticking with the .35 89 Topps instead!!! Great selection of current stars, and you can obtain a sealed LOW box (Note - there are LOW boxes and HIGH boxes - the only difference is that in the HIGH box, you get 3-5 HIGH numbers that are worthless today, therefore, you chances at any of the low number rookies are much lower in HIGH boxes) for around $90-100, a high box for around $60.

#3 - RIPPER - Any YEAR Upper Deck SWEETSPOT - Man I love these cards. What a great looking card. Plenty of big hits available, plus nice insert sets to make a good amount of your money back plus some. The product also offers DUAL signatures which really bring in the $$. Each box usually delivers a sweetspot auto, PLUS a game used or two! Great product and FUN to RIP!

#2 - KEEPER - By FAR, the number one KEEPER in the world of collecting is BOWMAN and BOWMAN CHROME brand cards, hands down. This brand has such a reputation for delivering the most sought after rookies in baseball, bar none! Just take a look at 2001 Bowman Chrome boxes for sale on eBay...with a huge checklist of ROOKIES each year, PLUS the added bonus of REFRACTORS, this is a no lose situation!

#1 - RIPPER - My number one ripper has to be Upper Deck SP legendary Cuts. No product for this price can produce HUGE hits of cut autos. What a rush when you open a pack of cards and feel that cut auto in the middle of the pack. ANY cut auto covers the cost of the box, and some cover more than the cost of the case. PLUS, you pull some game used and 1 of 1's from boxes as an added bonus. A really packed box woth lots of extras makes this the number one ripper in my opinion!

Well that is it - I have some just misses as well - Absolute products are great RIPPERS, with the very popular Tools of the Trade inserts, as well as Leaf Limited - (High End) and Topps Triples. I hope you enjoyed my listing. Please provide feedback, and I will add your comments to my next guide! Thanks for reading, and happy RIPPING!!!
