Here's a guide that rings to a different tune.
Have you ever seen a real Tiny Birdhouse Wind Chime? Not the kind that IS a wind chime, but a tiny wind chime FOR a Birdhouse.
You know. One that can hang off the tiny little porch.
Well, if not, I hadn't either.
I like to design and sell plans for birdhouses, build them, and enjoy making them look real. My favorite is the Stone Birdhouse with a Tudor flair. I don't know why I like doing this, but I'm always designing and working on something. I like the realistic looking ones that look like log homes, adobe ones, brick ones, and elaborate Victorian birdhouses. Perhaps, I have a deep desire to be a builder, but could never afford college. Anyway, this hobby is just one of many, which I am in constant pursuit.
I was REALLY bored, one day last week. Nothing seemed to get me motivated. All morning, the only thing I accomplished was to make six little foil balls for the mini catapult I bought at the dollar store. (Real productive, eh?) I had four basic birdhouses cut out and was waiting for the glue to dry on a couple of them when I got the goofy notion to make a tiny wind chime for the birdhouse that was already finished. I gathered some wire, tiny glass beads, and started playing around with putting one together... "Bingo"... the first tiny Birdhouse wind chime was created. Now, I thought this was so cute that it was funny. (Actually, I think I had too much coffee) I was pretty entertained with the idea of a tiny wind chime dangling from a birdhouse porch. Once I had one finished, I attached the tiny wind chime to the porch overhang.
One of my sons dropped by to visit, just as I had taken a step back to view the newest of my goofy ideas. He is a U.S. Forest Service Wildland Firefighter and I don't get to see him very often. He came in rambling on and kept eying my project on the counter. He finally stopped in the middle of a sentence and stated, " There's a wind chime on that birdhouse!" (I didn't think guys noticed things like that, but he did.) Now, he just had to go over and jiggle the tiny chimes. He must have played with that for about four or five minutes while talking with me.
My point... It doesn't take much to entertain humans, and birds are no different.
Have you ever had a birdhouse in your yard, but never had a bird move in?Well ... Would you move into a plain, old, ugly, boring house? Hmmm?
You can't expect birds to be attracted to undesirable living conditions, either.
Birds love "TOYS."
They are very inquisitive, and are fun to watch when they are checking something out. Especially if it is shiny, makes a little noise, and jiggles with the wind or when poked. Curiosity will get them, every time. They'll be cautious at first, but once they discover they can poke, tug, and dangle from this shiny little chime, they'll have to fight to get their turn to play with it. They will be entertained for hours with this, and you will be entertained to watch them. So, if you enjoy birds and want to draw them into your yard, you might want to try one of these tiny birdhouse wind chimes.
I only know of one place you can get them, and that is on eBay, at my store. Oh yeah... You can also find quick, easy patterns to build a Stone Birdhouse, which you can download right away. Or, you can simply buy a birdhouse with a tiny wind chime already installed. Either way, you will gain wonderful little feathered visitors to your yard and enjoy some simple good entertainment that will put an end to a boring day.
Hope you found this interesting and helpful. Have some fun today!
