I have noticed that many sellers use the word VINTAGE a little too often! This is especially true with clothing, pottery and glass and collectibles. Many times VINTAGE is typed in to try to describe an items style or look, not it's true age. This is not to say that all sellers are trying to deceive bidders..I think many just use vintage to let the bidder know that the item resembles an older version. I myself only use VINTAGE in an auction if the item is old! If you are wanting an item with age, but aren't sure if it has been reproduced you need to ask questions! For example, I collect Blue Willow, many titles in Blue Willow have the word vintage in them. The problem is many items are NEW in the box. Always read the complete description and if you still have doubts, email the seller~Also, much of the new clothing resembles old. I can see how it seems fitting to decribe it as vintage, but as sellers we need to make it clear when an item is new~"vintage type" or truly old vintage! As they say, it's all in the wording~be careful!
