I have been selling fulltime on Ebay for 5 months and have seen much of my success, selling music cds. Music sales is a multi billion dollar a year business. I am not going to get into statistics here, that is not what this guide is about.

  There are many music genres from Arabic to Zulu, pop, rock, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Ska, Tex Mex (Tejano), Klezmer, Metal (7+ different genres), Christian (Gospel), Reggae, Reggae-Espanol, Jazz, Latin Jazz, Hard Rock, Celtic, Hawaiian, Modern Jazz, Top 40, retro, Punk, Alternative, African Hi-Life, Opera, Ambient, New Age, Bachata, Oldies, techno, Electronica, Rave, House, Indie, Pow Wow, Instrumental, Rap, R and B, Soul, Folk, Folklore, Chanson, Country, Classical, Gothic,Bhangra, Tibetan Chant, Campesino, Yodeling, Blues, Bluegrass... Well, You get the picture.

  One important thing people who sell (Plan to Sell) music especially, those in the USA needs to understand is: Just because YOU are not familiar with the Singer/musicians DOES NOT mean that the cd will not sell. I recently sold a cd of a Singer/Songwriter I have never heard of before in my life. That didn't mean anything, Someone obviously heard of him because I sold that cd for $7.99. 

  Music Sellers need to understand some facts:

1. Not Everyone in the World listens to American top 40 music You would be surprise at how many people have never heard of Britany Spears, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Shania Twain, Journey, Ludacris, Amy Grant, etc.

2. there are billions of people in the world who listens to various styles of music (Not exactly what You listen to).

3. Any Type of music in any language will sell on Ebay.

4. There are over 10,000 different styles of music in the world.

Getting Started

Selling cds is easy. You can start with cds you no longer want.

To find additional stock check out local swap fairs, resale shops, garage sales, going out of business sales etc.

Purchase a few wholesale lots of cds from other Ebay sellers. I have 3 really awesome Sellers that I work with on a regular basis.

Listen to some of the music you purchase. Expand your mind. I listen to music from all over the world and I enjoy all of it.
