Hello!  I have a lot of fellow scrapbookers that are always searching for FREE instructions online. Since Tear Bear's are such a "hot" item, I wanted to share these free tear bear instructions with everyone. I just love creating these adorable mulberry paper teddy bears and other fun characters...You'll find everything you need to create your own adorable tear Bears for your scrapbook in my ebay store: Mulberry Moms

What You'll Need:   Thick Mulberry Paper, Tear Bear Pattern, Paint Brush, Cup of Water, Tear Bear eyes & nose, Paper Towels, Glue or Adhesive, Embellishments, Chalk, Tooth Brush, hat or sewing pin

Super fluffy tear bear secret!

Use this technique on your finished bear for a soft look and feel: take a large hat pin or sewing needle and pull up and out on the first layer or two of mulberry paper creating a fabulous fluffy look. Do this on the outer edges of your creation or the entire tear bear.  You can brush out the fibers with a toothbrush or just shape with your needle. With a little practice this technique will have you making thosae fluffy sweet tear bears that we all "ohh and ahh" over!

Instructions:

1.  Start by laying out your pattern pieces. You can make your own or purchase some to get an idea of what you like. Trace your pieces onto the back of your mulberry paper.  Be sure to leave about 1/2" around each piece for tearing.

2.   Lay out a paper towel to work over. Dip your paint brush into your cup of water and trace the outline of your pattern with the water. You want the water to soak into the lines quite well.

3.  Begin tearing the paper gently around your water tracing -I find that tearing away from you works best for a fuzzy look. You may also find that cutting around each pattern leaving room for tearing makes it easier than working with a whole sheet.

4. Let each piece sit until dry. Drying time depends on the  thickness of the papers. I normally make a batch of patterns and leave them sit for an hour.

5.  After your pieces are dry you layer your pieces to make your tear bear.  You can now "fluff" each piece with your tooth brush as desired. I start in  the middle and work my way out. Don't  be afraid to move your pattern around to get just the right look. Do not adhesive your tear bear together yet.

6.  Chalk around each piece as desired. Pink cheeks always look  adorable! You may want experiment with chalk colors on scraps of mulberry first.  Bears also look adorable with 3 little freckles on each cheek.

6.  Eyes and noses can be created by using punched shapes of  cardstock.   "Paw" shaped paper punches work perfectly. Color the eyes as desired.

     7.  When you have the right look for your bear assemble your pieces using glue or adhesive. Embellish as desired.  Get creative-bows, clothing, glitter...the possibilities for making your creation unique are enless!   You'll just love adding your tear bear to your scrapbook pages.

Most of all Have FUN! You can find all of your tear bears supplies, mulberry paper, patterns and more at mulberry mom!

If you have any questions you are more than welcome to email me, I would be more than happy to help you create your own tear bear! jill
