I've owned my 1987 TE300 for 5years and it's done over 201000miles with no major jobs ever done on the autos or the motor and always been serviced and it still drives like a new car! I thought about updating to a newer model so I test drove a 2002 C240 Wagon with only 80000kilometers on the clock and while I was test driving it the computer went all barnmy with numberous malfunctions warnings coming on the screen which I thought it was just plain stupid and crazy, so I drove it back to the dealer and told them to keep it!!!!! It was a big relief to be back inside my old TE300 after that and certainely made me appreciate it more as I can't understand why the newer models are not as reliable and there's been some horror storys here in New Zealand too regarding electrical problems and the worst is the wiring loom shorting out!and having to replace all the wiring looms and the poor owners having to fork out thousands!!!For godness sake Mercedes Benz you have made some class cars over the past 100 years, please, sort this out! As some of my friends are giving me a hard time about this!!!!! All 2000-2005 should be as good as my 1987 TE300!!or better!!
