1. Repair the hard coating on the handles which over years may fade in the dishwasher.
2. Polish the rivets back to mirror shine.
3. Re-sharpen the blades. Only the factory can re-sharpen the DD edge. Depending on frequent daily use, best to send straight edges back every 3 years and in between you can touch them up on any home sharpener.
4. Low price for return shipping.
5. Free replacement when the item is worn out by normal use.
6. If determined that an item was abused or misused, (screw driver or saw for example) then owners are offered a replacement at 50% current retail.
7. 440A steel offers: a perfect blend which hold a sharp edge, permit easy resharpening, flexibility to resist cracking or chipping, plus stain resistance. Mirror shine is like ice meaning slipperly. That reduced scratching the blade.
