FINALLY... A INFOMERCIAL PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY WORKS GOOD
HERE'S SOME SWIVEL SWEEPER DO'S AND DON'TS;
Don't buy it from the infomercial.
Do buy it from a brick & mortar store, like Linens & Things, so you can return it if you don't like it. You'll save a bundle on shipping and handling too.
Don't over charge the battery. This is the biggest problem concerning battery life. There is no indicators or auto-shut off, so you can easily ruin the battery.
Do keep the spinning brushes clean to maintain peak performance.
Don't expect it to be a vacuum cleaner, It's NOT! It's simply a super-maneuverable multi spinning brush dust picker-upper that has good edge cleaning capabilities!
Do expect it to be VERY maneuverable. It easily glides eveywhere in ever direction.
Do expect to be pleasantly surprised at how much you end up using it.
Don't expect to sell your vacuum. For a much more thorough cleaning, use your vacuum cleaner. For in between vacuumings, use your Swivel Sweeper!
Upon receiving both of my Sweepers, I removed the covers from the motor and corner gears and lubed them better with a PTFE grease. The gears are nylon and will definitely only last a few years of use, especially if you jam the brushes a lot. If the grease should run dry, I would expect a lot less life out of the unit. The Sweeper supposedly has an auto shut off if the brushes get jammed, but I think gear damage could occur faster than the auto shut off could respond, so be careful.
I accidentally dropped my normal Swivel Sweeper down our basement steps. It hit every step on the way down and finally hit the cement floor. I thought it would be completely ruined. All that happened was a small crack in the plastic cover, and it still works great.
Hope this review/guide helps
