With layer cakes and jelly rolls coming from Moda Fabrics you would think by adding sweet rolls and turnovers they would be starting a bakery, but these fabric delights are much better for your figure!

We all know what a jelly roll is... 40 different fabric strips cut the width of the fabric x 2.5".  The new sweet roll will be pretty much the same, but contain 40 different fabrics x 1.5".  Now you don't have to cut all those strips as Moda has cut them for you.

The turnover is going to be great also.  Once again it is 40 different fabrics.  They have taken a 6" square and cut it diagonally to make a half square triangle.  This will give you 80 (2 of each print) half square triangles that can be used on their own or paired up with your 5" charm squares. Awesome.  All that cutting work for your quilt making is being taken care of!  Great also for stashes.

The layer cakes are also getting a change.  A layer cake is normally 40 different 10" x 10" square.  I hear they will be adding 2 more squares to the layer cakes to make 42 total in one package instead of 40.  This gives you the option of just sewing them all together in a 6 x 7 configuration.  Add a border or two and your quilt is finished. 

What will be next?  Don't know, but whatever shows up I am sure it will sound yummy!
