Making your own homemade egg rolls? Make it extra special by making your own sweet & sour sauce! Or use the sauce to make a Pork Chop Bake.
Ingredients:
- 1 T soy sauce
- 2 T ketchup
- 1 1/2 C pineapple juice (may use orange juice)
- 2 T brown sugar
- 3 T corn starch
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in saucepan (reserve 1/2 cup juice and corn starch). Mix corn starch and 1/2 c juice, mix till smooth then add to sauce. Cook on high until thick, stirring constantly, until sauce is clear.
Sweet & Sour Bake:
Brown pork chops in skillet and season with salt and pepper. Make sauce. Place pork chops in a baking dish (spray with Pam first). Add 1/2 onion chopped, 1 cup sliced carrots, 1 cup chopped bell peppers and 1 can pineapple (drain and use juice to make sauce) to sauce and then pour over pork chops in baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender. Remove from oven, top each pork chop with a bell pepper ring and a pineapple ring then bake covered 10 minutes covered.
