Survivor Cook Islands - Preview of Survivor - Cook Islands
The 13th season of the immensely popular reality series Survivor will take place in the Cook Islands. The Cook Islands are a small chain of islands located between Hawaii and New Zealand. This island chain is named after famed captain James Cook, and they're also famous for playing host to Captain William Bligh just days before the famous mutiny on his ship, the HMS Bounty.
This region of the South Pacific has played host to the fourth and ninth seasons of Survivor, held in Marquesas and Vanuatu respectively. This part of the world presents a unique series of challenges for contestants, from dangerous animals and poisonous wildlife to limited resources for food and water. The winner of this reality show must truly be able to outwit, outplay, and outlast all the others.
Many people consider Survivor to be the first reality series in America. After Survivor premiered on CBS, other networks followed suit with their own versions featuring people in situations that challenged their endurance, intelligence, and social skills. Who can forget the original Survivor, featuring the "snake" Richard Hatch. Hatch beat out Kelly Wiglesworth for the million-dollar prize.
First introduced in 2000, Survivor has produced some of the most memorable moments in television in recent history. You can find DVD for all the seasons from the original in Borneo to the most recent season set in Panama.
