Superbug electric remote golf cart

You may want to evaluate a purchase of products (especially high shipping cost items such as electric golf carts).  Check with the seller about warranty and how much will this cost you if you need to return as defective.

I bought an electric golf cart with remote (the superbug).  When it arrived there were several problems, such as shipping damage, wires not connected internally in both the module and battery assembly.  These units are shipped from china to an importer who then sell them online.  They are not opened nor are they checked to see if they function properly.  The one I received had many problems, and basically did not work.  The seller sent me some maintenance instructions (produced in china).  They had been copied so many times the photos were nothing but fuzzy blurs.  The translation from Chinese to English must have been done by someone who does not speak either language.  It is almost impossible to follow.  Oh yea, the new module was not the same as the one installed before (tells you about inventory control)

I have been an engineer for 40 years and this product is about as poorly designed and produced  I have ever seen.  The wires are solid aluminum and break very easy.  The connectors are basically plastic housings for crimped connections and do not hold in place very well.  The modules are single sided circuit boards and heavy components are not secure on the board and will have a solder joint failure under shock and vibration (I am sure most golf courses have a few bumps).  The seller sent me a replacement module, which you would need hands the size of a spider monkey to replace and connect to wiring without any service loops.  The remote battery last as long as a beer fart and it is not a AAA or anything simple, it is one of those odd 24 volt batteries that cost about 3 bucks each.  It didnt matter though since the only thing the remote ever did was turn left.  You could make a case about you could get almost anywhere with just left turns.

I finally sent the unit back at a cost of $65.00 and when you add this to the $69.00 I paid for shipping when purchased meant I was out $134.00 because I bought a piece of junk.

I bought an electric cart on ebay before but it was used and got three years of good service but decided it was time to buy another one, so my lesson is it may be better to buy a used on since you know it did work at one time.

This is very common for imports from china not to have any quality control and they use the importer or customers to check to see if they work.  Not something you could afford to do if you were a US based business.  I have been designing products for a long time and if this engineer worked for me, he would be mowing lawns at the city park.
