Sure there is.  Not in an outlet.  Not from just some chinese factory,  but from other factories called OEM's (orignal equipment manufacturers).  Most brand name companies manufacturer their products through OEM's.  One designer company can have many OEM's producing items for them.  And the same OEM can produce products for more than one designer company at a time.    These factories are contracted by the designer companies themselves to produce large quantities of their products for a literal FRACTION of the cost it would take to produce them in the United States and many OEM's sell their designer products on the side as well.  If your one of the ones lucky enough to get in with them,  then you get it wholesale too.  The american dollar is mighty and what may be $40 to us can be $3000 to them.  So for them,  were the suckers for paying $50 bucks for an item worth $300 in America!  LOL!  If you are worried that your product is a fake....  don't be afraid to ask questions.  And don't get jumpy if the seller won't tell you EXACTLY where he got the product...  afterall...  if you were sitting on a gold mine...  would you tell anyone and create competition??  But they should tell you if they got it from an OEM ODM or from the store, or wherever the source was.

I myself use OEM's.  They are very hard to find though.  I went through several fake factories in China, Taiwan,  etc.  before  I found my OEM's.   There is alot of work and it WILL take several months or more of steady searching and labor to find what your looking for in a legit OEM.    NIKE is a particulary big knock off in Asia.  Beware of anyone selling a vast lot of Nike's with alot of other name brands in their listings.  If the NIKE's are fake,  so are the rest of the products.  But,  truth be told - Most of the knock off manufacturers put so much effort into their Replica's that the quality and look end up being just as good as the real thing anyway.  Actually,  some of them are completely undetectable.  The materials, logos, and packaging are EXACTLY the same as the originals. This is how I almost got fooled into buying from fake factories.  I figured out that the fakies use wording like.  "Manufactured to the original specifications" and "no difference in quality".   I also noticed that they avoided the words genuine or authentic in their advertisements,  although they said they were selling NIKE wholesale, etc.

The only way you can be truly sure that you are buying an original is to buy it from a well known store.

YOU WILL NEVER TOTALLY AVOID RISK BUYING ON EBAY!

But just because a seller has multiple items doesnt mean they are fake...  ask questions about authenticity.  ASK ASK ASK.

And dont be too hard on those selling fakes.  Most of them,  in the process of trying to make a living -  sell products they themselves do not even know are fake.  It can be devastating and embarrassing to find out you are selling fake peices and you dont even know it.  I'm sure the other guide in this section.... (the one written by the chinese girl that's yelling at everybody)  hurt and embarrassed the person she was doing business with.  His intentions were probably legit even though his products weren't - especially considering he gave her a full refund and apologized that the length of the scarf was wrong and offered to contact his own supplier.  He wouldn't have done that if he thought he was just making an ass out of himself.  Poor guy.  This is particulary cruel because if this guy was making his whole living on Ebay...  he could have easily just lost half of it due to a cold hearted person due to a mistake he probably still doesnt even know he made.

The only way to maintain good repoir within the EBAY community is to communicate.  Dont knock those who try to make it right.  If every effort has been made for peace and a good transaction and you are making it harder than it should be just because sometimes stuff happens...  THEN YOU DONT BELONG ON EBAY!!!

I hope this has opened some eyes.

Heidi
