The aim of aquiring a subwoofer should be to get a deeper frequency response that is as close to natural bass as is possible. The crossover frequency responses of the combined full range speakers and subwoofer must be seamles. In order to accomplish the near illusion of reality, natural bass sound is much better than just deep bass.
