As a BIG, BIG fan of STRING CROCHET, I am always wanting to try new patterns. I see beautiful designs in the VINTAGE BOOKLETS I sell. I want to KEEP them and try EVERYTHING, but a person can only use so many doilies. And I must admit, I don't want to make the WHOLE tablecloth or bedspread, but I am FASCINATED by the individual motifs.
So-o-o, I've come up with a wonderful way to display those individual motifs . . . a VINTAGE CROCHET CHRISTMAS TREE. I'm going to crochet one (or a few) of each of those motifs I love, starch them and trim a CHRISTMAS TREE with them. I'm going to use my favorite colors, Vintage Pink & Lime Green. You could also do it to match your decor. Irish crochet blocks would be FANTASTIC and don't forget POPCORN and small FILET patterns (you could do your family's initials!) If you tat, you could add tatted motifs.
For the tinsel, I'm going to crochet several yards of a narrow EDGING in some metallic accented thread.
I think we should start now, to make sure we're finished by the holidays.
Happy crocheting to EVERYONE!
