The start of Jamie Gries calling dates back in 1988. Her love of fashion even as a young girl paved the way for her future by landing her dream job with the a talented Lina Lee out of New York and Los Angeles.  As her dream to open her own store someday grew stronger she focused much of her efforts on designing novelty sweaters.  She has said, “ people used to light up when they would find the perfect sweater the related to them in some way” and for this reason, and the right timing to showcase her artistry on HSN, Storybook Knits and her exclusive sweater store in Kennebunkport, Maine became a household name and favorite.

 All of the Storybook Knit sweaters are Limited Edition, Collector’s items. Made from high quality yarns and threads, superbly handcrafted, handloomed garments.  Sweaters cover an array of themes from Artistic, Floral, Holiday, Novelty, Wild Animals and the Southwest.  

 Every Storybook Knit tells a story.  It is this very thoughtful concept that makes each sweater as individual as you are. If you love Labradors, then the “Labs in the Meadow” sweater tells the story of the playful pups iwht showy blossoms that set the scene.  Mint green grass grass and trees paint a lush meadow landscape at the fonrt of this tan cardigan. Pepperd through are puple, fuschia and ivory wildflowers,embellished with embroidery and beading.  Three fuzzy Labrador pups are hard at play – one chasing a butterfly, one chewing a ball and another fetching a stick..Larger purple flowers surround the scene, with one bunch appearing at the center back.

 The Artist Series, replicates the Masters like Renoir, Guaghin and Raphael are a truly masterful and elegant collection.  This exquisite, hand-loomed piece depicts one of  Renoir’s most famous paintins the “Luncheon Party”.  This limited Edition art piece showcased meticulous sequin detailing every nuance bringing this stunning piece to life.

 The Leopard Excellence Sweater, part of the Wild Animal series, encourages you to abandon your hunt for the perfect cardigan, and surrender to the exotic beauty of this stunning beauty.  Done in warm tan, a captivating leopard print border glides around the collar, down the front applique’ on cuffs.  Two majestic leopards sit atop a platform adorned with two-ton pink embroidered roses and matching collar.

 The list of collectables is astounding and you may find one, ten or 50 sweaters you adore. It is clear to me and so many SBK followers, that nothing feels better than your favorite pair of jeans or sweater.  The comfort and security of wearing “your story” is hard to explain  but is felt by all that surrounds you.
