THIS IS NOT WRITTEN FOR THE EBAY PROFESSIONAL BUT FOR THE PERSON (NEWBIE) WHO IS NOT SURE THEY CAN DO THIS. It is only in hopes some person will read this that is having a hard
time with fear and holding back to take the first and hardest step- TO START A EBAY STORE OR AUCTION.

Im writing this to help the person who may have a job already in place and those who want to start with the same goals as I had.  I did not start my store on Ebay with hopes of retiring with millions (although
I still have my fingers crossed) but with the purpose of some extra cash.  It helps to have a goal and for me it was easier to have a goal that was not far in the stars. A simple one year Goal of extra cash for
my family to have that brilliant dream vacation of DisneyWorld.  Here is what setting that goal did for me and i hope it will help you.

1. it gave me a goal to work towards, even when i was tired.  It was a way for me to give my family something special with out taking away from needed income. Best of all it was a fun journey. It was not
just to pay yet another bill or car repair.  It actually made the idea of working a fun task.  I planned the whole trip down to food expenses.  It was to be a vacation of great memories.

2. it gave me courage to start something on my own.  Because my whole income did not revolve on mistakes and consequences what could it hurt?  Ebay is still a very inexpensive way to get your feet wet
in fufilling orders and there is no better method on the internet i know of to teach you and help you with marketing.  There are no long term obligations of expense- IT IS AWAYS YOUR CHOICE.

3. You can sell what you already have and reach millions. You dont need to start off with a warehouse or a team to answer phones. You dont even need to sit by the phone.  Ebay will lead you with a complete
answer and question format- YOU CAN DO THIS.

4.It is a great way to see if you are self motivated as you think you are.  If you want this to work, you must work it.  Learn with out investing hours making a web site or hours setting up shopping carts which
can be expensive and a trauma to figure out.  They do it all for you.  But......dont forget to read their helpful information.  You just cant (usually) put a item up and not learn how to do it properly. Learn to use
correct hit words (what people are searching for and how they find you) Put up all the facts- Ebay customers dont want anything left out.  They are tough customers. If it is not perfect-Be sure to let them know.
This is not the place to make something more than what it actually is- Your reputation is on line. If you are a success and I think you will be - take pride in being accurate and your store or auction.

5.The best is that you can meet your goal. Do a little homework and see what sells.  Talk to your family or neighbors and see if they have a collection they would split profit with you to sell. Word of mouth
is amazing.  Collections do very well on Ebay.  If you goal has not been a fortune you will see how quickly those dollars add up.  Before you know it you are on your way to a new adventure and maybe
retiring with extra income.  Look towards the stars but keep your feet firmly planted.

6.If you have school age children use this as a business learning tool.  Keep  good and accurate ledgers. This is a must.  If it cost you 5.00 for postage-write it down-keep track of any extra expense of gas
to ship-know your Ebay fees and try different methods of advertsing. If you are doing well now is a good time to consider your own store on the internet and you can link it to Ebay-such as a Powerstore.

7.Learn to be responsible for every action.  If you receive a order dont wait a week to ship. Someone has already paid you and waiting.  Two business days is considered enough and if you can ship the next day.
Free shipping is the best but never add extra shipping to make a good deal look better (this is just my opinion)  There are reasons why people do this but it is easier for me and i feel better about the whole transaction to keep it simple and totally honest.  Your charactor will be found out quickly on Ebay.  Be a trustworthy sales person and do your best.  If you take a hit that is not fair, pick yourself up and learn
from the experience. This is the great Ebay- if you do your best you can continue and grow and learn.

I hope this helps motivate someone who has doubts and fears.  The first step is the hardest - just decide you are going to do this and have fun along the way.  It can be a great start and a learning experience.
Put those vacation photos or new car or whatever dream you are seeking where you can see it such as over the computer.  Even when you accomplish your dreams-SAVE THAT IMAGE AND FRAME IT>
know you did it!!!!  Enjoy the reward. Remember Life is Good and there are many of us out there who love to help. Dont ever be afraid to ask. wE WERE ALL NEWBIES AT FIRST- Sunny days and Dreams come true- -surfcityangel
