Starting a Home Based Business - Part I
Taking advantage of a home-based business opportunity can afford you many benefits. There are not only the financial benefits, but ones that benefit your lifestyle as well. These benefits can be far greater than the benefits you receive working for an employer. If you are already working in your own home-based business or just entertaining the idea, be sure to evaluate your options and consider the value of the benefits you will receive.

Money is not the only factor that motivates people to start a home-based business. Sometimes the intangible benefits are more important, such as having a sense of freedom and independence; you can set your own schedule, and having time available for family obligations and leisure activities. Parents with children in school often think about what home-based business opportunities may be available to them. Teacher conferences, after school activities and the ability to be home when the children are out of school are strong motivators in making the decision to start a home-based business. Working from home gives you the benefit of flexible hours and the freedom to adjust your schedule according to the needs of your family.

Research the options available to you carefully.  Use the internet to gain valuable information about what it is you are pursuing. Ask people who are already in the business what has made them successful. Choose a business that suits your lifestyle and be willing to put forth effort.  This is a must if you are to succeed.  Nothing worth having is ever easy (but if you choose something you love it does help).  There are many get rich quick schemes out there and start-ups that ask for fees and memberships. Don't take the bait!  Often these are just gimmicks to entice you to pay for things they really don't offer. What you're buying is the idea their selling of how it can change your life.  And by the time you realize you are out of hard earned money. Beware!  There are many helpful items that can be found here on ebay for information as well. Search for 'Starting a Home Business'.

P.S. These are things that have helped me and I don't want someone to fall in the same traps that I did.  Visit me at Giovanna's House of Style.

I hope this guide has aided you in thinking about starting your own business. If so, please give it a YES vote for helpfulness.

Stay tuned for Part II….
