Star Wars for Collecting or Gifts

There is something undeniably special about the Star Wars films.
I grew up as part of a large family that never went out to a show. Both of my parents had well-paying
jobs. We were comfortable, but money wasn't spent on movies.
Then Star Wars came to a local theatre. Dad said: "Hey kids, we're going to the movies." We had
heard about the film from our friends, so we knew what the show choice would be. None of us
questioned “why” as we ran to the car.
- Star Wars (1977) Part IV
- The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Part V
- The Return Of The Jedi (1983) Part VI
These 3 were the 1st original films, although they were actually parts 4, 5, & 6 of the written stories.
- The Phantom Menace (1999) Part I
- Attack Of The Clones (2002) Part II
- Revenge Of The Sith (2005) Part III
These 3 films were released much later as prequels.
Collecting or giving Star Wars items lets you re-experience the fun. Some enjoy toys or action figures,
but I personally prefer items that can be used. Key chains, playing cards, or a mouse pad can bring
a bit of your favorite movie into your day to day life.
EBay has over 50,000 Star Wars items listed for sale.
You probably don't have many vintage pieces. You can pick up some on eBay.
Even though I was just a young girl, it was obvious who was the sexy star of the show.
It wasn't Luke Skywalker. It was Harrison Ford as Han Solo
Most of us don't have the time, money, or storage to have a big toy collection, but you probably have
space for 1 or 2 of your favorite characters.

The railroads are ships, streets are planets. Using the force is optional.
These options can really change a Monopoly game.
Early in the game, throw snake eyes, and advance yourself to
the property that you want to purchase, such as the coveted Boardwalk.
Later in the game, when trying to avoid expensive hotels, you can
place yourself safely past the expensive part of town, conveniently passing
go while you're at it.
Double 6's can allow you to take another player's property if you role the
high number. This can change your fortune if you're down on your luck!

Be careful buying. Don't believe everything that a seller says.
It's easy to say an item is "rare", although that may be far from the truth. A seller can tell you
what they think the value of the item is, but, that may not be the actual fact.
Pay for items with PAYPAL . Make sure to pay with your credit card, not your checking
account, for your protection.

My sister's finance is 35, and has never seen any of the films.
He said that he wants to see them, but can't decide where to start. Should he watch them as we did?
Should he begin with episodes 4,5 and 6, finishing up with episodes 1,2, and 3?
Or should he watch them as written, beginning with The Phantom Menace, when Anakin Skywalker
was just a young boy?
I can't decide. I especially enjoyed some parts of the newer films as I was imagining what events shaped
the character's future selves. Would the older movies be found lacking if viewed after the new-style
Hollywood productions?
I still don't know.
* Trivia: Jacob Christopher Lloyd (The Phantom Menace)
The only American actor to have played Anakin Skywalker. His predecessor, the late
Sebastian Shaw, was British, and his successor, Hayden Christensen, is Canadian.
