With the Star Wars 30th Anniversary coming up Star Wars trading cards are in the news again.  As with previous releases Topps is producing boxes for Retail Stores (Target, Toys R Us and Walmart) and Hobby stores (baseball and comic book shops).  While the basic card set is the same within each box, there are different insert or chase cards.

Hobby boxes will contain an Autograph or Sketch card.  Sketch cards are original hand drawn cards created by various Star Wars artists.  Actors that have signed cards for this series include Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and David Prowse.   In addition, hobby boxes also have "box topper cards".  As the name implies, these are found at the top of the box.  For the 30th Anniversary series Topps is taking some of the cards from their original  Star Wars card sets produced in the 1970's and foil stamping them with the 30th Aniversary Logo.

Chase cards that are unique to the Retail boxes include magnets and Animation Cel cards.
