Since Decipher lost the rights to create the cards in December 2001, Star Wars CCG cards became a highly profitable item on eBay. If you are thinking about starting a collection or filling holes in your collection eBay is one of the only ways left to get these rare cards.
The first thing to consider when buying Star Wars CCG cards is the purpose for the cards. Are you going to play compete with the cards or will you just collect them? In either case it is a good idea to know the cards. Go to http://decipher.com/starwars/cardlists/index.html to get a look at the different cards. After deciding the purpose the cards it is a important to make a list of the cards you want to get and check off the cards when you get them.
There are two different ways to get cards. You can get them individually or in packs and lots. Individually is easier to get certain cards if you want to play, but if your going for a complete set buying packs or lots is a cheaper way to get many common and uncommons.
Personally, I have discovered that in many circumstances going to Stores that sell cards can be a very good way to get many cards for a decent price. For many of the rarer cards it may become very expensive so choose what cards you are going to bid on.
