"12-Back" is a term used when talking about a Vintage Star Wars Carded items.  When Star Wars released their first mass line of carded action figures they released 12 items.  Those items were; Ben Kenobi, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Death Squad Commander, Han Solo, Jawa, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, Sand People and Stormtrooper.  On the back of the cardboard (aka: Card) packaging the figures came in there is a picture of all 12 characters in a straight line.  If your item has that, then you have a 12 Back.  They also realeased a card with a photo of 20 or 21 characters on the back.  If you have one of those then you have a 20/21 Back item.
