For years and years and years, I did a lot of craft and art shows with my stained glass. Because of all of those good and bad experiences, I have a lot of advice I can offer to help you earn more money when you find yourself doing one...
You can increase your chance of sales if you concentrate on the $5 - $20 range of suncatchers. You wouldn't believe how fast ten dollar items turn into hundreds of dollars! Anything priced over $50 and generally you'll hear "I love it... but can you do it in a different color?" (Which means - you just got an order!) Consider your large pieces as pieces of art that show what you are capable of doing. They represent your skill and your sense of color and style. And, when one sells, consider it a bonus!
For those of you who don't really like doing suncatchers...try to view them differently. Not only are they great to perfect your skills on but they're so relaxing to do! Whenever I finish a large job, I'm pretty wiped out mentally. I don't take a break though. (Life is too short for that!) Instead, I turn to making suncatchers. They're what I consider to be a great, mindless activity to do while you re-charge for your next big project!
If this guide helped you in any way, I'd appreciate you clicking the 'yes' button at the bottom of the page. :)
