I dont know about you, but I have kids that stain mine & their own clothes! Selling here on eBay has gotten me to look into pretreating clothes a little more in detail. I dont want to sell items, even if given to me, that I woudln't wear. But I dont want to just throw things away, thinking, well, its not worth trying to mess with. So, heres a list of stain fighters I rely on:
- Dawn dish soap cuts grease. Out of your clothes too! Do not dilute, just dab on grease stain, and wash.
- Oxy Clean (spray bottle) for laundry does wonders for my kids clothes! I spray on, let sit for approx 20 minutes, then wash.
- Desolve It is my last option if nothing else seems to work, and it is a lifesaver! My husband left a chewed piece of gum in wrapper in his dress shirt pocket, and I didnt think to check it before I washed it, and it made the worse mess! Desolve It worked awesome on it!
- Lemon juice and salt are great for mildew stains, as long as you let them set in the sun for at least half a day, preferably in the late afternoon when its the warmest. Keep dabbing the lemon solution on stain throughout the sun bleaching and then soak with any stain treater and wash.
Another cleaner, not particularly for laundry, more for bath, kitchen, etc. is Coke..lol. Sounds funny, but the Coke factory actually uses it to clean their facilities. Supposed to be good on rust...havent tried it myself yet! Hope this is helpful. If so, please vote yes!
