Some hints on spotting legitimate NFL authentics and imposters.

Jerseys made after 2002 are all made by Reebok.  Before that, teams used companies of their own choice.  These include Nike, Starter, Adidas, Wilson, Champion, Apex One, Russell Athletic, and Puma.  Any true authentic made before 1998 will have a tag on the front that says "Pro Line". (If you find other NFL gear that says Pro Line, it is the same as the sideline gear that players and coaches were issued.)  Some of these older authentics do have screen printed numbers. 

Current authentics have a few characteristics to look for to determine their authenticity.

1. Grey/Silver Piping that says "nfl equipment" on inside shoulder pad seams.

2. Reebok logos are embroidered on sleeves

3. Numbers and Names are stitched on with a zig zag pattern.

4. Numbers are stitched together, then to the jersey. For example if the Numbers are blue with white background, the blue would be stitched to the white, then the white stitched to the jersey. You will only be able to see one set of stitches on the inside of the shirt.

5.  Names are sewn to name plate then the nameplate is sewn to the jersey.

6. Spandex side panels

7. Most teams' dark jerseys have two-ply shoulder areas

8. Check your team's website or other football websites to make sure fonts and colors match up.

9. Sizes are on front tag in even numbers from 48-60, not letter sizes

There are many sellers on ebay who offer legit NFL jerseys for great prices.but there are just as many who don't. Use some of these guidelines to make sure you don't get ripped off
