There has been a lot of sellers here in eBay that has been selling fake Abercrombie & Fitch or Ezra Fitch clothing. Specifically, I'd like to point out what real Ezra Fitch cargo pants should look like. I've bought a couple of these fake cargos which the sellers swear are AUTHENTIC or possibly just out of specification items (pure hooey!).

First off, the buttons on Ezra Fitch cargo pants should be made of metal. It is NEVER MADE OF PLASTIC. The size tag inside the cargos should be stitched/embroidered and NOT PRINTED. Pay attention the quality of the leather patches. New Ezra Fitch cargos have the logos stitched on the leather tags instead of "branded/burned." Pay attention to the quality of the fabric and workmanship. Ezra Fitch line is known for having a "destroyed" look. Most of the cargos I've seen have looks like they have bleach patches, but don't have the nicking/worn out properties. Finally, look at the tags (if any is included). Does the price tag look funny/fake? Does the price line seem appropriate for an Ezra Fitch line? Look for mispellings on these tags. I've seen tags that say "ARERCROMBIE."

Authentic: belt is thick, rivets on the leather tag on the pocket, destroyed/distressed.

Fake: flimsy belt, missing rivets on the leather tag on pocket, distressed but not destroyed, the price tag says small, medium or large even though the size tag on the clothing is numbered.

When in doubt, just don't bid on it.
