Binoculars sell big time on Ebay Canada and whiles the lightweight low cost East German Prakitca brand is well known in the USA, Canada doesn't rate it as far as Ebay is concerned!  Another very impressive but rare lightweight compact binocular, from the Japanese Sport Master brand is shown here to look out for!  So many binoculars of similar style from Canon, Pentax and other leading brands of compact, simply don't measure up with these products, but everyone knows about Zeiss or Leica and when it comes to compact light binoculars that you can almost forget you're carrying, these are the brands to measure up to and these two shown do the trick.  Though the Sport Master is way out in front, one thing you can be sure of with Leica and Zeiss is they won't come cheap, where Sport Master or Praktica come in to play, is in dollar value terms.

So both these value binocs have the roll down rubber eye couls for spectacles wearers, both have eye lens caps, both have cases and both have a crystal clear and bright field of vision, like you're flying!  Many binoculars simply don't deliver on optical value, they've got the look but the view may be dim, may badly combine the two views so's you see two images badly overlapped, may offer a very narrow field of view so you lose a bird easily on the water or in flight or make people in close-up have unnaturally large heads!  Which brands if any get close to Zeiss or Leica quality?  In my experience these two lightweight types come close!  Surprisingly Canon and Pentax for all their far higher price tags, simply don't deliver!  -But try the identical model they bring you through from the stock room, could be the display model is the best one in the store!  You might think buying the demonstration one is not cool, but check out the optical advantage and you may change your mind.  Remember heavy Navy type Field Glasses are very unpleasant to carry around on visits, like camcorders, any heavy old classic binoculars might seriously ruin your day!
